fuck nashville there so dirty... ughhHARTNELL OUT?
While only the NHL knows if they will make a statement about the most recent hit to the head, it is fairly clear that Hartnell will be missing from Game 3 in San Jose and likely more. The NHL’s rules regarding game misconducts are pretty cut and dry as they are listed below.
Near Game 2’s conclusion, a massive brawl broke out. During the battle that had everyone tied up, Hartnell was given two game misconduct penalties. Combined with his game misconduct penalty from Game 1, he now has three in two games. In order, the three penalties are:
1) Game 1 - Game Misconduct - Kneeing Cheechoo
2) Game 2 – Game Misconduct – Not having his jersey tied down during a fight
3) Game 2 – Game Misconduct – Secondary altercation with Mike Grier
Rule 50.5 of the NHL’s 2006-07 Rule Book states:
Game Misconduct Penalty (under Rule 50 – Kneeing)
When a player or goalkeeper has been assessed a major penalty for kneeing he shall also be assessed a game misconduct.
Rule 47.13 of the NHL’s 2006-07 Rule Book states:
Jerseys
A player or goalkeeper who deliberately removes his jersey prior to participating in an altercation or who is clearly wearing a jersey that has been modified and does not conform to Rule 9 – Uniforms, shall be assessed a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and a game misconduct. This is in addition to other penalties to be assessed to the participants of the altercation. If the altercation never materializes, or player or goalkeeper would receive a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and a ten-minute misconduct for deliberately removing his jersey.
A player or goalkeeper who engages in a fight and whose jersey is removed (completely off his torso), other than through actions of his opponent in the altercation or through the actions of Linesman, shall be assessed a game misconduct penalty.
A player or goalkeeper who engages in a fight and whose jersey is not properly “tied down” (jersey properly fastened to pants), and who loses his jersey (completely off his torso) in that altercation, shall receive a game misconduct penalty. If the player or goalkeeper loses his jersey despite the tie down remaining in tact and attached to the pants, the game misconduct is not applicable, however, this is must be reported to the League offices so that the jersey and the tie down can be examined.
A player or goalkeeper who is involved in an altercation, when the opponent has been identified as an instigator, shall not be assessed a game misconduct penalty if his jersey should be removed by an opponent or an official in the discharge of his duties.
Rule 47.7 of the NHL’s 2006-07 Rule Book states:
Fighting After the Original Altercation
A game misconduct penalty shall be imposed on any player or goalkeeper who is assessed a major penalty for fighting after the original altercation.
Rule 23.3 of the NHL’s 2006-07 Rule Book states:
Fines and Suspensions –General Category
In Playoff games, any player or goalkeeper who incurs a total of two game misconduct penalties in the “General Category” shall be suspended automatically for the next Playoff game for his team. For each subsequent game misconduct penalty during the Playoffs, the automatic suspension shall be increased by one-game. For each suspension of a player or goalkeeper during the Playoffs, his club shall be fined one thousand dollars ($1,000).
Thus, it appears from Rule 23.3 that Hartnell will be facing a multi-game suspension.

Anaheim vs Buffalo for the cup with Anaheim winning in 6
the west is insane this year. anyone could come out on top. Buffalo might have the inside track for the cup final if the west does what it looks like it will, and beat the shit out of eachother in long tough series'.
if id have to pick a dark horse, i think i might go with minnesota the way theyve been playing the llast 3 weeks of the season.
west:
detroit in 6
Minnesota in 7 (i reallllly dont like the ducks, so im really hoping they win here)
dallas 6
SJ in 5

Calgary has turned it around, which is pretty cool. New Jersey vs. Tampa Bay is shaping up unto a nice series.
I've been LOLing at all the Atlanta fans I know... a surprising amount of them live in my dorm and are pretty annoyed with me atm.

well the teams are obvisouly seeded 1 through 8 at the begining of the first round. those seedings dont change regardless what happens. so highest remaining seed will always play the lowest remaning seed, then next highest plays next lowest... its not a bracket system like the ncaa tournament. the sharks will only play anaheim if both detroit and dallas win their series.

Dam! Why did Dallas have to lose! Turco is the man for sure, I hate seeing him lose AGAIN wtf. /emo

I scared my roommate away cussing so much at all the dam stupid penalties grrrrr I mean wtf way to totally screw over your amazing goalie who kept you in the series when you were down 3-1 by being downright stupid with the penalties...
I'm not even a huge Stars fan but I'm still pissed, Modano, Turco and Jeff Halpern (ex-Capital, he actually grew up sorta near where I live) are some of my favorite players.

ive actually played games for the same jr team turco played for before he went to michigan. not with him though. years after he was gone.
. it was in my hometown when he was there and i was obviously pretty young. he used to warm up doing the splits on the faceoff circle to the left of his net to the song "whoop there it is" by tag team lol dont ask me why i remember that lol.... but now you know something nobody else in the hockey world knows about him lol

heres a decent video.. best i could find. not great but decent. someone needs to put together a better video than all the fools on youtube stealing clips from one another. its hard to fully appreciate some of the stuff because the video quality is crap. like i said the best i could find on youtube but overall id rate it maybe a 5/10 for the clips they picked.

this one is kinda funny. instant karma. just so you know the puck NEVER ends up in that area of the crowd. basically what happens is steve sullivan gets a high stick in the face and is bleeding. as he is skating to the bench a fan decideds to mock him. a little later in the game the puck goes over the boards and hits that exact fan in the head and he starts to bleed. steve sullivan couldnt resist going over to the glass and mocking the same fan that mocked him earlier. note the fans wife actually laughing at the situation once sullivan comes over to mock him.

he does know alot about hockey. he spent many years protecting the likes of players like wayne gretzky. everyone that knew him at the time was in such shock this happened. They all said its not something they ever expected from him ever. goes to show you even the best of people have lapses in judgement.Valermos wrote:funny thing is when hes announcing on FSN, hes like super chill and seams like he knows a fuck load about hockey. wouldnt think he would pull this
i didnt realize he was doing commentary on the west coast. guess it makes sence though. he spent many years living in L.A playing for the kings.
