my downloader is stuck at 10% halp plz

I'm havin the same problem. I have done everything that I know of (allowing the ports throught the Firewall, etc.). and still not getting anything. I've tried mirrors but can't even seem to get those going I'm really frustrated and need help here. I use Vista which is what I think some of the problem is

Gotta use a direct downloader i've found ((win 7 was having this same problem))
