Got into Vanguard Beta Friday night, took 20 hrs to download. I'm breaking the NDA obviously......u guys gonna snitch on me?.....anyway, even though my PC is fairly decent I'm having alot of trouble running it.

The graphics on high, it's a beautiful game......lag is terrible. I can run right into a mob before I know it's even there. I turn the graphics down, lag is less but still present, but looks even more cartoony than WoW and doesn't run nearly as well.

Solo till lvl 8 and just got my first group quests......lag increased in area needed for quest in the fort w/ all the other groups running around. Hard to find your group members...no dots, nothing on mini map, mouse over them in party.....doesn't even say where they are. They could be around the corner and I'd never know it.

The quests are somewhat more interesting than WoW, but same kill me 4 of these and return (then again, made only lvl 8 ).

I made a Dreadknight, combat is very very similar to WoW so far, I'm not noticing any significant differences.

Fighting a mob, you can watch them warp away (on the mob's porttrait, it tells you how many meters the mob is away from you) striking you with melee damage at 300+meters away....of course you can't hit it. Major problem imo with naked corpse runs for a death penalty. (Hitting your tombstone and select 'loot all' equips everything again though too.)

Leveling wasn't too too bad so far alot of quests, except lvl 7, need to grind a level mostly there.....(Kojans anyway) I just explored the island abit and that took care of that.

Big thing is, the servers crash every 20-30 minutes. Idk if this is just a Beta thing, but servers are not very stable it seems. Also, 4 times so far, 2x's during the game and 2x's while logging out, Windows crashes to a blue screen telling me it shut down to prevent damage to my computer......lol. Big problem right there.

I never did a Beta before so idk if these are common.......game is going to open Beta in days from what people been saying. (Word is, open Beta you will have to pay for.) End of January release. IMO, I wouldn't pay to Beta this in it's current state.....I think it needs alot more work and like I said, I have a fairly decent computer and I'm having trouble running it.....I would not spend money to upgrade anything (except maybe RAM.) to play a game.

im gonna do open beta vel. i got the beta code i just need to get home and dl the client (im currently out of town) i saw it played on a friends laptop and ive heard the same from the forums. its gonna be laggy on anything but a decent pc. im gonna play with toned down settings til i get a new pc for college. let me know if you end up playing it. me and a couple RL friends are gonna be trying it out as well.

It looks shitty from what i've seen. Although i would love to play a new game where i could be something other than an orc. I hate vath for picking horde!

Next game i go to will have no racial boundries and i'll be a barbarian again!

funny considering he went alliance!

Anyways, Vanguard sucks. The beta sucks. Leveled a toon to 30. It sucks.

New computer...it lags. It sucks. Fucking game feels like Everquest but alot of the quests are such shit that it sucks.

I never really played EQ past level 8, (and it doesn't feel at all like EQOA) so maybe thats why it feels different to me.
Anyway, ya it's laggy.....my machine isn't really bad, of course it's not the best but I should be able to run it better than I am. If it lags this much at release then I don't think I'll play it.

Currently, imo, WoW is still the best out there.

ive looked into it and it seems promising (except for the pc requirements) im gonna try it out and see if i like it and if my RL friends play it. them playing it will prolly be a big factor in my playing it cuz mmos are always funner with RL friends. but we'll see how it all turns out

I didnt like that all the races looked the same other than the facial features.. How can all those races have the same ass? How hard is it to make each alittle different.

I did the beta; was too EQ like and well...didnt want to do that grind again..

muath if your pc has trouble running wow it wouldnt be able to run vanguard at all... i run wow on max settingsm but when i played that game everything had to be toned down til it looked like crap and it still was choppy.
