So i was playing Madden and thinking about the days when 4 of my friends would get together and play Super Tecmo Bowl. We would each have our position we liked to play and we would stick on that player the whole game. I played free safety most of the time and stuck to defense. Then if something needed to be done in your area you did it and it was really fun to brag if you did something cool.
So lets make a MMO football game. You make your character pick the position(class)and you are put into free agency and start looking for a team(guild). You would train up(get xp)by doing drills like just a normal practice. You could try out for the computer teams and play on an AI team and hope a player team would recruit you. Or with enough money to be able to afford the field(guild base)you could make your own team.
As you get more money you could upgrade your field, it would start just a dirt field with a few chairs. You could play against other player teams(pvp). There would be a weekly show on the website talking about the big movers and shakers in the leagues.
To make it more fantasy you could even have teams where the players are robots or animals or whatever but still real football rules. But to make it fun you have backyard football where there aren't rules except basic ones. You could have events like Kill the man with the Ball(if you don't know that i'm sorry you had a bad childhood) or stuff like that.
You would get better equipment by winning games and moving up in ranks kinda like pvp armor rewards. You could also start out training as a running back and find you wanna be a safety and could switch. This would require a lot of training alone and with a squad.
I would play this game, and theres a lot of things left to be figured out but if they could be figured out it would tap into the Halo playing demographic while also pulling in the vets of mmos.
I'm actually going to work on this so don't steal it, if you have any ideas to share to make it better i'm all for working with people. The Exiled football league, how many people are rolling Quarterback? 3 per roster(guild)limit!
