So I am looking over this new game and I assume it will be coming out during xmas this year.
Has anyone any thoughts about this game. Has anyone had any experience in the beta for this game or know anything about it?
I have found that the lead director that did EQ2 is the same person that is leading the development of this game. In other words it looks and feels a bit like EQ.
First impressions...
I think the player owned cities is a bit overrated but if we as a guild decided to play i think we can build ourselves a nice little city. Further-more we can build large ships to take us places. I saw that they referenced SW:G and that brought up bad memories. I don't think it is a decent comparison.
I don't know if I want to start a new game and break off playing WoW. The expansion is coming out and I am looking forward to playing it. However if a large enough amount of people start to turn away from WoW and join Vanguard I would most likely go with.
Any thoughts?

A lot of people I used to play eqoa with way back when that game came out are going to play this, I might pick it up just to check it out, not sure yet.

Lets see... if you wanna talk about failed MMOs, or at least in a buisiness sense, SWG and EQ2 come to mind.
SWG was like FFXI, only worse, as far as time commitment goes. So, with that being said, and of course this is my opinion, I am pretty skeptical of this game based on who the "parents" are....

Like 2 years ago when I first heard about this game the rumors were it was geared towards hardcore players, very unlike WoW. That immediately turned me off back then, but I'm still willing to give it a try. It can't be worse than ffxi, can it?

I gave the game a lot of thought, but I'm not so sure anymore. The fact it's been delayed over a year, and changed back to association with SOE from Microsoft sort of makes me wonder about how the production is heading.
I will say that alot of the ideas that are going into the game are awesome though. The combat system sounds much more interesting than the standard hit this button 25 times in a row.
The game isn't going to be "hardcore" by normal standards though. Just more challenging.
