Question about Rouroni Kenshin. (Major spoilers)

Post by Smelly old Hob »

Did they ever continue the story of Kenshin after he defeated Orochimaru beat that guy who claimed to be the son of God and blinded Kenshin, and after he finished with the Feng Shui Masters?

I recently picked up three mini movies two of which had the tale of his life before he stopped killing and the last one skipped to when he was like 50 and dying of leporesy as was his wife, and his kid was 20 years old and Kenshin fought some white haired guy with glasses on the beach who claimed to be Kenshins first wifes brother. I asked my brother and he swear up and down that this guy was in several episodes so the only answer has to be I am missing a series in my set. I dont even know how kenshin got leporesy.

There are a few different versions of Kenshin.

It started with the manga, so we'll call that the real story.

Then the series was released, and covered most of the manga up until Kenshin defeated Shishio. It was about 75 episodes. The last season of Kenshin is terrible, and wasn't based on any source material. The first is mediocre, and the second is fantastic.

The OVAs are amazing. Trust and Betrayal is probably one of the best anime movies I've ever seen. Reflection is alright, but only really makes sense if you've read the manga since it leaves a lot of stuff unexplained. Both of the OVAs are pretty true to the original.

The movie, Requiem for Patriots, stands alone. I can't remember much about it since I watched it quite a while ago.

I can't answer your first question since I didn't finish season 3 of Kenshin. I stopped watching after he got his sight back.

The white haired guy, Tomoe's brother, wasn't in the series, but figured prominently in the end of the manga. He's pretty bad ass. And crazy.

In the manga, Kenshin doesn't die. His "god like" powers eventually fade and he settles down to have a child with Kaoru. Though, in Reflection he's definately dying of something - I don't think it's leporesy. They never really say, but his hands and feet still look normal, so I think it might be something else.

Kenshin's one of my favourite series. It's pretty childish at times, but really rivitting at others. When I was reading the manga I couldn't put it down. [There's this one part where Kenshin thinks Kaoru is dead and just breaks down, chains up his sword and runs away... Zomg.]
