I figured this is the best board to put this.
Anyhow, I have decided (after reviewing my families health history) that it is time to get in shape and take better care of myself. I have been dieting and exercising for the past few weeks and have shown decent results going from a 53.5 inch waist to a 49.5 inch waist. I know it isn't some great ultra victory but I am feeling better about myself.
My exercise regimen includes
Walking for 45 minutes each day
Push ups
Sit ups and crunches
my calorie intake is somewhere around 2345 a day now which is about right for what I am trying to do. Mostly chicken, fish, fruits, and vegetables, some rice as well. I am taking no supplements asides from a one a day mens multivitamin. As soon as I hit a wall or plateau I plan to join the local gym which is four miles down the rode from me. I'll go and build up some lean muscle mass to aid in the fat burning process. As of this writing I weigh in at just under 300 pounds (bad I know =/). I am reading an interesting e-book titled "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto, it has been recommended to me by a multitude of my friends whom I used to work out with in the past, and it is a wonderfully written book.
I'll be updating this topic every once in awhile when I have achieved good results.

The only advice I can give ya bud is drink a shitload of water. Stear clear of all sodas, gatorade, or energy drinks. All that shit is just empty calories. Get sex whenever you can! Not only is it the most fun exercise you can do, but helps with the depression you get when you cant eat the shit you used to.
I know some poeple are militiantlyagainst the adkins diet, but keep an open mind about it. Ive had family members loose a huge amount of weight in short periods of time. DO a bit of research on it.
And if all else fails, theres always

lol, yeah water is a huge part of my diet, I can't believe I forgot to mention that. Sex is in limbo atm. I tried Atkins years ago but it ended up just being a yo-yo thing for me. Strict no carbs killed me, I just could not stick with it. Tapeworms sounds like a good idea. I am close to Mexico any way so I am just a 3 hour drive and a glass of Mexican tap water away from a tapeworm.

Now THATS an idea! You could bottle mexican tap water and label it as a dietary weight loss formula!Smelly old Hob wrote:lol, yeah water is a huge part of my diet, I can't believe I forgot to mention that. before each lacrosse season id generally find myself maybe 10 pounds above my playing weight due to just not being as active during the offseason. i never found it a big deal to cut the 10 pounds in 2 weeks or so. My advice would be like freakshow said, drink an assload of water and stay away from gatorade type drinks unless its intense physical labour and you're refueling during the period of exercise. all that salt and bs in those drinks is more for a quick refueling during exercise. your body is just fine after exercise with plain old water. if you're lifting weights and what not trying to build muscle you may want to look into a protein supplement. If you're trying to drop wieght while build strength make sure you get a low calorie protein supplement. there are all kinds of them out there. some are incredibly high in calories for people who want to put on size.. not the way to go if you're looking to lose weight. if you're main focus is dropping wieght first, you probably dont want a protein suppliment yet. Also, make sure you eat alot of fibre. alot of good health benefits and is great for losing weight since your body really doesnt absorb it so it offers little to no calories and it makes you feel full and satisfied afterwards. you'll find yourself not craving as many snacks between meals. Try not to eat huge meals. you'll be better off having smaller servings and having a piece of fruit of granola or something like that between breakfast and lunch and also between lunhc and dinner. and for the love of god dont eat any carbs after dinner lol
i'll see if i can find my old lacrosse work out guide from a few years ago. we had a couple personal trianers on staff and they were pretty dam hardcore lol
