Alfredsson denies shooting puck at Niedermayer

Not sure which side I want to take, though I'd like to believe Alfredsson, being one of my favorite players left in the playoffs, didn't do it on purpose.

unfortunately i can no longer be your friend if you like that douche lol. but seriously. he totally did it on purpose. watch the clip a few times he looks up right at him before he shoots.... he looks at the clock, looks where he is gonna shoot, winds up, takes another look at niedermayer, readjusts where he is aiming and fires it right at him. NHL players have it ingrained in them not to just tee it up without looking where you are shooting. its like skating with your head down. plus why would you take a slapshot into the other teams corner with nobody near you with only 3 seconds left. complete bush league play by alfredsson....

heres what we saw in canada. its the hockey night in canada footage. we also got the nbc game but the CBC footage is a better angle showing alfredsson look up and readjust his shot when he sees niedermayer there. the best angle is at about 1:10 into the clip. absolute joke...

That's the conflict atm. I liked him before for sure, but not sure what to make of it atm. And players always just slap it away at the end of periods. Certainly not every time, but often enough. Not saying anything about where he was aiming though. Was he trying to injure? I don't think so. Was he trying to stir up trouble? yes.

What he shouldn't have gotten away with is the punch during the scruffle.

players do always shoot it at the end of the period. but the do it at the net. that "shot" would have hit the boards before it even crossed the goal line. the NHLs problem is they only suspend when there is an injury. same play happens and niedermayer takes it in the face and alfredsson is done for the playoffs.

dam i hate the senators.. i was so excited when they lost. Leaf fans cant stand the senators. i was actually at the blue jays game last night and there was a guy wearing a sundin jersey with a sign that said "go ducks go" lol his friend had a sign that said "ps. go jays" lol they showed the score of the game on the jumbotron and the crowd went crazy lol its pretty much treason to cheer for the sens if you're a leaf fan. there was even a chant of "go ducks go" during the baseball game lol

God the third Anaheim goal pretty much sums up the game for Ottawa... Also thought Emery let in some weak ones, especially the first two.

But Fisher and Alfredsson played awesome, as they consistently have been this playoff run.

They played dam good in spurts but couldn't keep it going long enough, and as soon as they got away from skating hard and making smart decisions they would get scored on. All Anaheim had to do was capitalize on the many Ottawa mistakes.
They keep shooting themselves in the foot.
