i grew up raising Carvelle Terriers (brindle pitbulls) i still have one its a very sweet dog, licks to much but very sweet. growing up on a farm in alabama i learned a few things from a great man, my dad. pitbulls are highly intelligent and loyal. the killer in a pitbull has to be taught, always was told never let a pitbull know himself, i never had my favorite dog Kilo on a leash, he never locked his jaw once. the dogs are feirce protectors, the preditor in them is taught. treat your dog of any breed as a friend/family member, let them learn about life and how to enjoy it. i could go on and on but this subject really upsets me...gl

imho pits are not family dogs, much like tigers are not family cats. any animal that will snap and kill a human has no place in a civilized society, or a family neighborhood.
humans > pets
im sick of hearing about people getting deformed or babies getting killed by these godam things. One of them attacked my dog and almost killed her, and i dont wanna hear about aggression or whatever. i saw it, my dog was jus tstanding tehre and this fuckin pit attacked her, locked on her neck and my brother and i had to beat the shit out of it to make it let go.
if you want a pet, get a pet. leave the monsters in the zoo.

i do blame the owner. i blame to owner for gettin an animal that is a danger to society.
poeple that buy those kinda of dogs have ego issues. you dont see people going out and buying bobcats and shit? no because if you want a cat just get a cat, theres no need to get the biggest baddest cat out there. people buy snakes all the time, but do they buy the most poisoness snake known to man? no they dont they buy a garder snake or some shit. it does nothing different for you, but poses a threat to others, so whats the point? if you want poeple to be afraid of you then start acting crazy. if you want protection, buy a gun.
i bet sigfrid or whatever thought his kitty was nice until it tried to eat his face...

Agreeing with Crawlpappy here, I can't even explain as to how mad it makes me when people are so ignorant about pitbulls. When a pitbull is viscous and attacks people/animals for no reason it's not the dog's fault, it's the owner's for raising it to be that way. 86 you say you blame the owner for buying a dog that is dangerous to society then why in the test they showed in the video wasa pitbull 4th from the BOTTOM on a list of 100 dogs to most likely bite a person over a 7 year study. Labs and Cocker spaniels were more likely to bite someone/something. The reason you only hear about pitbull's biting people is because when they do they are the most powerful dog and yea they can kill people. Other dogs out there are just as viscous, look at pootles, those things attack everylittle thing going and are viscous as hell. I'm sure they bite people all the time. But do you see it in the news? No because a bite from them isn't going to hurt anyone seriously. So should a dog be labeled as a viscous or thret to society and be banned necause it has a powerfuler bite then other dogs? No and it's ignorant to say they should be. If you raise any kind of dog to be viscous and beat on it it's gonna hate people. If you raise any dogshowing it love and being nice to it you won't have a problem with it. Raise anything a certain way and that's how it's gonna be, Cats, People, Dogs, anything. I bring my dog down the beach were theres 100's of people and other dogs and I have no problem with her. She minds her own business and just walks along. She was raised with my 1 year old cousin they have been together almost everyday up to this day. They were playing together this morning. She loves him licks the kid to much. My dog is a lap dog always gotta sleep on top of ya and lick the hell outta ya. I'll have pictures tommorow and if you say this is a viscous dog and not a family dog there's a problem.

Canadians seem to think Pit Bulls are Dangerous:

I don't think that people should just go out and buy a Pit Bull. I think they should get a special license that shows they know how to care for a Pit Bull before they are allowed to have one.

An interesting idea. Perhaps this sort of thing should be done- we need to prevent overpopulation of pets and pet diseases too, this could help all of that.Cuda wrote:Canadians seem to think Pit Bulls are Dangerous:

Edit: I agree 100% with crawlpappy. I have heard similar stories about rottweilers. You love a dog and it loves you back. I've seen rottweilers that love to cuddle and never bark. Train it to love, it loves. Train it to be mean and angry, and it is.
Pitbulls have the potential to be very dangerous. But so do human beings. We place the blame for violent humans on themselves and their parents. We never blame the breed.

I agree with cuda. The dogs ARE dangerous, it takes a special person to raise them right. In philly there were tons of kids getting attacked in the ghetto by pitbulls and rotweilers.
My best friend had a rot and he worked with that dog all the time and trained it hard and gave it plenty of excercise it was a great dog. If you can put that kind of devotion into a pit or a rot then they are fine.
The problem is not everyone in life is responsible enough to properly take care of an animal. Yea you can say a poodle is more aggresive but who cares lol, a poodle attacks me I kick it 1 time and it is running away. A pittbul attacks me and its a different story.
86 does have a point about the ego trip thing though, I think a lot of people who own these dogs get them for the wrong reasons and the dogs end up becoming dangers to those around them. I think the dogs are fine they just need more training and excercise than most dogs. A good owner makes a world of difference and a bad pitt bull owner makes for a tragic newstory.

Because a pitbull has the potential to be more dangerous than a pooddle because of it's size, strength, and genetics. We already talked about this.Baru wrote:Yea and once again all the bad things said about pit's are all to do with the owner? So why should a whole breed be labeled as dangerous because some people get them and not take care of them right?
