Dark Knight
So I went to the theater at midnight to see it...
... and it was sold out, even though fandango didn't indicate that 20 minutes previously when I checked before I left.

Saw it this afternoon. Impressive movie. Compelling story, good action, some humor. And Gary Oldman is a great actor, imo. It was tough picturing Heath Ledger as the Joker, though. That voice was just creepy.

Heath Ledger was amazing, probably the best role I've ever seen played.
I was pretty underwhelmed by the rest of the movie though. It seemed about 45 minutes too long and I found it dragged a lot in basically any scene that didn't feature the Joker.
I fucking hate how Christian Bale does the forced whisper thing, in any scene where he has more than few words of dialogue it just sounds so fucking stupid, like Harvey Dent and Gordon realistically would just be like, Hey batman we are right here, you can talk like a normal person please we can't hear you.
All in all it was still a great movie, mostly due to the Joker being played so perfectly. I loved Jack's Joker, but it wasn't even in the same ballpark.

I didn't see them as becoming something else at all. Rather that they played the roles they were destined to play in gotham. The joker kills without remorse or pity, and the bat who has too much remorse/pity to kill. Batman's inability to let joker die holds true to the very last scene, even when it would be so much easier for himself AND for gotham, to let him die (like he wants to).
