A laser mouse is a good idea.

You won't need a game controller, and I don't even think they're compatible with WoW.

You're better off learning to move with a mouse and key board, and binding all your spells to the keyboard. Start off that way and you'll be in good shape.

For WoW I recommend:

A fast processor (3.0 GHz or better)
1 gig of Ram
Decent video card (complicated subject)

I guess it depends how much you can afford, here is a good one...

Putting the 'mental' in Elemental since 2005!

6500 for overkill, or 1500 for great performance?
I play on a dell that i upgraded a tad with more ram and a better video card and it was 1500. I'm never over 300 MS and my frames per second in a molten core raid are in the 40s. If your like a computer designer then you may just wanna go all out and get a 6500 computer so you can do more than just play games, but if your just looking for a game box a dell will do just fine. I played EQ2 on max settings with no problems with my dell. The water sure looked pretty in eq2.

I still am fine with dell, threw in a sick monitor flat screen for free and i only had to make a few payments since i paid with financial aid. College materials writeoffs for the win!

If you're going to spend that much, just build one yourself.

It'll be way easier to upgrade it, and will be a much more quality system.

PCs are intimidating at first, but so easy to put together. Plus you can buy a bad ass case and have it look pimped out.

newegg.com and zipzoomfly.com ftw!

Heh all I see when i look at pc stuff is latin words. Not a clue how you go about such things as building a computer. Id rather just spend money and have it over with lol.

Once ideas get too complicated I get rid of them in a deep hole somewhere lol.

I'm no expert on Dell PCs, but I have heard that they are very hard to mod and upgrade most of the time. You'll probably be saving yourself money in the long run if you do it yourself.

There are tons of "how-to" guides to build a pc, as well as sample PCs built.

It's not much of a hassle, but to each his own.

Something like this is a good guide to get started. Some things are different, but you can easily upgrade whatever you want to, like the video card, etc.
