Graphic Designers??

Post by Qqmoreplz »

I've been wondering if anybody has some graphic design skills? Basically I've been trying to record a lot of our 10man kills (hardmodes now), and may eventually record some harder 25man bosses if my computer can handle it. But generic windows movie maker title slides are kind of...boring.
I was wondering if anybody can make me a cool into that I can use for all of the movies (It'd have to say The Exiled, and probably US-Rexxar). It'd be a huge bonus if anybody could do this with a color scheme of dark-ish red and brown-ish gold (our guild colors, and that yellow color is not a very good example of brownish gold haha), or colors similar to our home page.

If anybody is actually capable of doing this, a like 5-10second clip would be ideal, but I don't know how (un)realistic this overall request is. I just feel like my videos look pretty lame w/ generic title slides instead of something flashy like most end game guild's have in their videos :(

I'm a design major although my focus is in print and web. I have limited animation experience but may be able to do something for ya.

If you can come up with anything that'd be sick, but don't stress yourself. I'm having issues making my lich king movie at the moment anyway. When I try to record with sound with fraps, it comes out horrible and unhearable in windows movie maker, and if I film stuff on my mac I can't use the movie files on my PC where all of my actual boss footage is :(
Unless I can use AVI files on iMovie, which I don't know how to use anyways, lol. Maybe I'll just be doomed to making generic boring boss kill videos with my horrible video editing programs lol.

If you could send me the videos somehow, i could reformat/edit/clip them using the school's software. It edits sound also, so if it's on another file thats ok, i can layer it on top of the video.

I don't know much about fraps. I have a trial version that only makes 30 sec videos. The quality is great but have yet to try editing. It seems to be pretty user friendly though.

A lot of people use Sony Vegas for editing wow movies on a PC. I'll prob use Final Cut on the school's Macs however. You might be able to find a shared copy off Utorrent.

I was never able to record sound (Vent, etc.) very well with Fraps. I know that some people use Audacity to record Vent to include in boss kill videos.

My problem is, my PC (with fraps) records in AVI format, which are gigantic files, and the only editing software I have on my PC is Windows Movie Maker (fail software). And my laptop (macbook pro) has iMovie, which can NOT use AVI files (and even if it did, I'd have to either buy an external harddrive or a PC->Mac USB cord to transfer the files). Fraps doesn't seem to be able to record sound very well at all, coupled with bad editing software isn't very effective. Where as on my mac, you can just record WoW w/o third party software (it's a mac only WoW option), but it saves the files in .mov files, which can't be used on PC's, and I don't own any sort of converter programs. iMovie also seems to be a lot better in comparison to my PC's program.

So with my personal tools, either I can make shitty movies on my PC, or attempt to raid on my laptop (it probably has better hardware, but I don't want to risk any sort of overheating on my laptop, it's a 100% aluminum case with no fan vents) and make better quality movies.

I'm a graphic design major but I deal mostly with photoshop and illustrator, I have little experience with movies.
If you can send me some clips though I can fool around with them and try and make something sweet, I do have some skill. . .

Fraps records sound very well. It's a common misconception but the problem with sound and fraps resides on Window's fault. Window has had terrible sound mixer support which finally gets fixed in Windows 7.

There are plenty of converter software that are completely free and widely used by professionals. There are software like VirtualDub or Megui that you can use. What resolution do you record the videos anyways qq?

I think it just records at my WoW's resolution yeah? Which in that case would be 1680x1050.

Any suggestions on things I could do if I wanted to remain recording on my PC with fraps?

I just managed to make a new intro on my laptop with some stuff I recorded on it, I must say, It looks pretty sick. Nothing too special but very sleek. But I probably won't use it for anything aside from my LK video I'm making.
