Go Caps! It was such an exciting game to watch. :D

Seriously - watch the highlights. I have to give props to Ottawa though, I knew there was a reason Mike Fisher was my favorite player in last season's playoffs.

Last night, Ovechkin got stitches after getting hit in the face with a stick, broke his nose, decked Steve Begin in a sweet open ice hit, scored 4 goals including the game winner in OT, and got an assist for a total of 5 points to take the NHL points lead.

The quality is shit, but I can't find another vid with every goal and hit, unless you want to watch the highlights on nhl.com.

Yeah I was watching, was freaking insane.

He had a hat trick in the first period. He's been leading the league in goals now for awhile though, but tonight he took the points lead from Malkin. Now I'm just hoping we can get a streak going and make the push into the playoffs.

One game left for the Caps, and their destiny is in their own hands after Carolina's loss to Florida earlier tonight. A win or an overtime loss Saturday night (7:00 PM EST) against Florida at home secures the Caps' first trip to the playoffs since 2003. The Caps have won 6 straight and 10 of the last 11 games. BTW 6 games is their longest winning streak since Jan. 8-19, 2000. They started the season with a 6-14-1 record before Bruce Boudreau replaced Glen Hanlon as Head Coach.

LET'S GO CAPS!

P.S. Val, Wasted, and co., San Jose seems to be in prime position to make it to the finals, best of luck to ya :D

Caps force Game 7 with a 4-2 win over the Flyers, thanks to two 3rd period goals by Alex Ovechkin!!!

Caps come back from a 3-1 series deficit to win in OT in Game 7 on a breakaway goal by Dale Hunter in 1988... against the Flyers...
